This policy applies to personal information handled by NVSS Solutions Limited ("NVSS") through the nvss.co.nz website, its contact form, and the One Useful Idea proposal form. NVSS handles personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

2. Information we collect
- General enquiries: your name, company, website, email address, and message.
- One Useful Idea: your name, email address, idea title, the problem, proposed tool, intended audience, and preferred public credit name.
- Technical information: IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, access time, cookies, and analytics identifiers.
Providing form information is voluntary. If you do not provide a required field, we will not be able to respond to your enquiry or assess your proposal. Please do not include another person's personal information or confidential information in a proposal.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and discuss possible projects or partnerships.
- To receive, assess, select, and communicate about One Useful Idea proposals.
- To design, build, operate, and report on a selected idea.
- To prevent spam and misuse and maintain the security and reliability of the site.
- To understand site use and improve our content and services.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. One Useful Idea publication and credit
If an idea is selected, we may publish its title, description, build progress, and the proposer's chosen credit on this site and in the completed service. Every completed service will display Powered by [the proposer's preferred name].
We will not publish the proposer's contact name or email address unless it is the same as the chosen public credit or we have separate permission. To avoid publishing your legal name, use a nickname or organisation name, or leave the credit field blank to use Anonymous.
5. Cookies and analytics
We may use session technologies that are necessary for site operation and security. When configured, we may also use Google Analytics or Naver Analytics to measure pages visited, approximate location, device details, and interactions. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies and process information under their own privacy terms.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some essential cookies may affect how the site works.
6. Sharing and overseas processing
NVSS does not sell or rent personal information. We may share information, where needed for the purposes above, with NVSS personnel and contractors, web hosting and database providers, email providers, and analytics providers. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the rights and safety of NVSS or others.
Some service providers may process information outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to ensure an overseas recipient provides safeguards comparable to those required by New Zealand privacy law.
7. Retention, security, and deletion
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including restricted access, account protection, and secure transmission. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, but we work to maintain protection appropriate to the risk.
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for its collection purpose, an ongoing relationship, dispute resolution, security, or legal obligations. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. If a notifiable privacy breach occurs, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as required by law.
8. Your rights
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete it; we will consider that request subject to any legal or operational reason to retain it. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity.

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when site features, service providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
